Bill, if you're looking for a post by a specific person, and know their handle, you can search for MEMBER in the search function also.
I've tried that with things I've posted in the past... But with 34,000 posts it doesn't work so well for me.

One trick I've learned when searching is to use Google or Bing and include OTT in the search, like this
site:Orangetractortalks.com BX25D Air Filter

Been doing that.
Still no joy.

Agree 1000%
All I'm saying is "Thank You" to all who have patience with Knobs like me.
ummmm…you’re not a knob….but a noob….just sayin’😎

if you were a knob, that would make you an ahole…which still may apply in certain cases.😜

See, an old timer helping out a noob with tractor stuff.

I am having trouble seeing the relationship between a knob and an ahole. Please advise...
Around here calling someone a knob is a dickhead…as in…polishing the knob.

Being a self proclaimed “cursing connoisseur”, this has always been my understanding as well.

MY opinion, based on MY experience over the last three years - YMMV.

Browsing through some very old posts to see what I could see and was struck by the number of questions and inquiries that are extremely similar to those still being asked currently and I had a minor epiphany.

The Moderators and (most) long time members must have a very high degree of patience and understanding.

Like dealing with toddlers - they may be spinning in their chairs and pounding the desk when they read questions they've answered countless times yet the answers posted are typically without belittling or ridicule and mostly polite. There may be a snide comment or hint of impatience once in a while but it's never personal.

Not looking for points or apologizing for anything (yet, LOL), just felt compelled to say THANK YOU!
It's what keeps me coming back, hopefully for many more years.

OK - now back to your regularly scheduled blog.

I also agree……

The Mods do a great job keeping it a “friendly” place, and the members here do a fine job answering questions for noobs in a polite way. (y)

Regarding the “search function”: I have a hard time with it too.

All the words I type in are apparently either too short, or too common.
