Mixing Fluids

I have a Kubota B1550 HST.
From what I understand is that the hydrostatic tranny and the hydraulic hoses all run off the same fluid/pump reservoir. Also that the tractor needs a special tranny/hydraulic oil vs the standard hydraulic oil?

My question arises from the fact that I borrowed my rural municipalities tree planter and used it to plant 1700 trees on my property. I am not sure what fluid was in the implement, although I assume it was standard hydraulic oil.

My question is: Should I do an oil change on my tractor(oil is very clean and up to level) or will the little bit of oil that was in the implement not cause any problems to my tractor?

Thanks in advance

I disagree with mixing fluids especially when discussing rental equipment hooked to YOUR hydraulic system.

We occasionally rent from a couple of local companies for those items I just don't want to buy: a breaker for instance. Every couple of years I trench through rock for one reason or another.

Sidelight: purchase philosophy. If I have to rent it often enough to notice I tend to buy it. Then I don't have to worry about mixing fluids and general upkeep. And I can use it on my schedule, not try to get maximum use out of a minimum rental period.

We ALWAYS replace their oil with our oil.

Cheap dang insurance. You have no idea what the last renter might have poured into his machine and most people aren't as careful as you are. This is especially true if your machine is a hydrostatic drive.

I made a plumbing bypass. Hook up the inlet to your machine, open the waste valve on the outlet when NOT hooked to your machine. Pump through a couple gallons (determine from OEM the volume that device uses internally), hook to your unit, refill your unit to fill line, go about your business.

Overkill? Perhaps. But I'm very cautious about how our eqpt is treated. Expensive? Also perhaps. But less than a service call or about equal to being down to change a filter.

Example: On one job I saw a contractor "stop" a seal leak by squirting a tube of grease gun grease into a hydraulic reservoir. My knees got weak. He didn't care, it was a rental. What about the next guy that rents that device? Maybe he doesn't care either. But I do. And maybe you do too.

To each their own, but this is how we've learned over time to conduct our business regarding rental eqpt.

Thanks for the replies. I am still undecided on what to do as it has already happened or I would of done the replace on their oil as you mentioned, but now it is to late as I didn't think of it till after the fact.
