I've been doing some FEL work and also pulling down some small trees with my B7300. I know that for PTO work, there is the recommended RPM indicated on the tach. However, in an effort to avoid breaking something I have been doing the pulling slightly below that setting. On another board I was told that I was doing more harm than good by using less than max RPM. However, (and I did ask this on the other board also) since I bought the B7300 used, I don't know what the max RPM is. I searched but wasn't able to find that info and there is no red line indicated on the tach. Does the B7300 have a governor? Can I just put the throttle to the stop when doing work such as pulling or digging with the FEL without having to worry about over revving the engine?

Not sure what the max rpm's are but most tractors are set to open the throttle all the way up and that's at max. Personally I never run mine over the PTO mark no matter what I doing. As far as loader work goes. I run mine most of the time around 1500 or so and then use the foot pedal when higher RPM's are needed. The main thing is not to lug the engine. That's when damage can be done. As long as you have your Rpm's high enough to keep from lugging you should be fine.

my B1700 runs around 2600 rpm for the pto, but for loader work I run in the 1500 - 2000rpm, as long as the engine doesn't moan I don't see why you would want to burn any more fuel than you have to
