New to the Forum. I appreciate any help i can get.

Bought a used 2007 4wd Cab M9000. Engine keeps starving for fuel if running below 1500 RPM. Has a new fuel filter. Cleaned the water separator but still the same results. The fuel tank on the side of the fuel filter seems to be empty even after filling the other tank full. Which would explain the fuel gauge and light showing empty since the sending unit is located on this tank. I plan to remove the fuel tanks and check them for debris.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Welcome to OTT
Check to be sure fuel tank vent hose isn't plugged.

Just did one of these, same complaints. We isolated it by removing the fuel caps and then the tractor ran perfect for a long length of time. Both fuel tank vents were plugged with dirt dobbers. Also, our customer complained that the right tank would run out while the other tank would remain almost full. Under the bottom of the tractor is a equalizer tube that connects both tanks together so that fuel will draw out of both tanks equally. It was plugged. Easy fix for both issues. Clean the vents and remove the crossover tube and clean it.

Thanks guys for the input.

I removed the fuel tank vent tubes from both tanks. As soon as i removed the tube from the right tank you could immediately here the fuel flowing into the tank. After blowing them out with the air compressor I reconnected them and started it up. Ran great. The fuel gauge also began to register where as before it would show empty with the fuel light on. I haven't ran it for a long period but I don't believe i will have any further issues.

Thanks again!

The tank on the right is not venting. The tank is vented by a hose off the top of the tank to the bracket that the hood hinges on. It is a u shaped pipe. The hose on the other end of pipe runs down the side of engine. Dirt dobbers have most likely stopped it up .This does not allow fuel to transfer to right tank.

This was a common problem with both my M9000's. I tried something different and haven't had a issue in several years now. I took both lines off, cleaned them and poured diesel thru both them. I'm thinking it's been been 4 or 5 years since the dobbers have plugged them. My thought is they don't like the fuel. Before I did this I was cleaning mine 2 or 3 times a year. May be worth while to try yours this way and see if helps.

I wonder if that solution would work for the tranny vent tubes as well :D Dobbers get mine at least a couple times a year  Gotten to the point I keep a pair of pliers and a steel pipe cleaner in the tool box under the seat. And just pop it out and clean before using it.

Daren, it might be worth a try. Like I said I had problems with mine all the time and after pouring fuel thru them the problem stopped.

Thanks for the tip. I thought about purchasing some fine wire mesh and hose clamps to wrap around both ends of the tubes to block them from stopping it up. One tube was visibly stopped up with dirt. The other was stopped up further up the line.

In the Midwest there is a small bee that lays their eggs in small holes and not usually at the end, but further in. They love trailer light/brake connectors, vent tubes, and even ignition switches. Haven't found anything to stop them but make it inaccessible to them.

The wire mesh was my next step but so far haven't had the need. I don't see the problem with doing both. Anything to make life easier I'm all for it. I'm really getting to like following the old saying, "use your brain, not your back". :D

How in the heck to get to them with a loader on. I was able to get the tube from the left side tank off. I hope you do not have to drop the tanks to do this....
