Hello to all and thanks in advance,

Getting ready to install a Kubota block heater in one of my freeze plugs on my 2012 M7040.

Wondering if there is a preferred location or better freeze plug to use . Otherwise I was figuring to go with the best access. I have read through some of the issues others have had where they have used a drill on the freeze plug and then had some significant problems - so hoping to avoid any and all of that.

Thanks

Chris

Left side, good access location.
NO drill, simple as that. ;)
Just drive it in on one side and it will spin and then pull it out with pliers. :D

Yes there is a threaded plug as shown in the drawing - takes a 17mm Allen - I used a 1/2 drive version with an extension.

Problem is the Kubota block heater part #70000-00297 is to small for the threaded opening in the block.

I’ll call the dealer Monday and see what other options are out there

When I bought my 2012 M7040 the dealer installed a screw in block heater.

Dealer should be able to get you one which fits.

Sent you a PM
