Okay, just to recap we purchased 36 acres rolling terrain at 7200ft in the colorado foothills. First cabs are a must. We were considering a higher horsepower Grand L or the M6060. We will be putting in organic gardens, snow blowing, mowing, etc. They average about 120 inches a year of snow there.

The M6060 is actually a grand or so cheaper because of rebates than the L6060 set up with FEL, air ride etc. The problem is the M7070 is 'only' 5k more with the 12x12 transmission.

Both are easy to drive M and L and I Dont think the HST is a must as my wife and I can drive both.

I have been approached about doing some mowing and snow work.

I have received great info before on this board and I have about two weeks to close :).

Every time we go to the dealership she and I look at each other and think either the bigger L series or the M-series will do the job fine. Either way even in the L-series we would stick to the two turbocharged models. Feeling a little overwhelmed.... Attached are some pics. Don't discount the snow blowing :).

Lot's of room there, your place is beautiful. :) If money is not a problem, get the M7060 and be sure to get it with the loader 3rd function and all 3 rear remotes. If you are considering working for people, time is money and you need to be able to do things a quickly as possible. That's the reason for all the Auxiliary hydraulics. So that implements can quickly and easily be adjusted hydraulically vs manually. Get the second and 3rd rear remotes with the float feature.

If people are going to have you do snow work, when the snow is gone, they are going to want you to grade also. Just need to keep these things in mind so that the tractor can be properly equipped. ;)

Between the M6060 and M7060, go with the 7060, get the 12/12 and it has limited slip front differential, really handy.

I think so (thought so). I test drove them repeatedly (including the L6060) and decided on the M7060. You get a lot more tractor for the money. If you do things needing "fine control", consider the L6060. For example, I would not want to unload round bales from the trailer with the M7060. For this I prefer my JD 4600 hydrostat. There is less risk and hitting the trailer and it's faster. But I needed and wanted a bigger tractor so I chose the M7060 which was about the same price as the L6060, but it's a lot more tractor. So far, I'm very pleased

I really have no idea. I'll have a better idea next month when I have a big mowing project. This is where the ePTO with the 12/12 transmission option on the M7060 should be helpful.

I just picked up a M6060 - and after driving both, i decided to spend the extra dough on implements. The M6060 is one hell of a machine, and i'd consider it an upgrade from the L5740 that I put 500 or so hours on.

Good luck - if you haven't already bought the machine :)

The new machine with backhoe... if you have any questions, let me know. I looked up and down for info on the M6060 and had a hard time getting straight answers.
