M5700 what is this opening?

Opening goes down into case, what goes here?? What's missing? Floor panel removed for clarity, the panel has an opening for this hole. This is on the floor/hump back towards the seat where your left foot rests. ?

You have the dipstick on the back of the case above the PTO right?

All the prints I look at do not show a hole there, just a raised casting.
Is it a blind hole or does it go into the case?
Stick a piece of wire in the hole if it only goes a short distance then it's a blind hole.
Kubota typically just puts a push in plug over blind holes.
And it's not uncommon for there to be holes that were never used.
And also common for there to be matching holes in the sheet metal that were not used.

Yes, dipstick in the back. Your highlighted picture shows exactly where the spot is. It goes into the case, I can put a rod down into the hole and come back out with hydraulic oil on it. The access hole on the cover is a mystery, I assume it's got to be another dip stick location?? There are no seals and it's been open to the weather. No idea! Thaks for your response!

Well I think I've figured out what happened.
Looks like someone has changed the case.
That hole was used on an M4700 for a dipstick.
The cases cross over.
Or it was a very early M5700 and there was originally a plug in the hole.
Just get a good plug for the hole.
