My LX3310 has an error code E21 can't find any problem. Everything is operating normal. I just happened to notice it when I was shutting it down after blowing some light snow. Unfortunately it is 33 months old but only 84 hours. No warranty service and I'm afraid of what the dealer over 100 miles away will charge. :(

I found a reference saying that is a communication error to the engine. Is it still starting and running okay? It might clear itself but if it doesn't I would look for any loose or dirty connections. Might try unplugging and plugging the ECU back in? I think it's under the seat but I haven't verified that. The manual I have doesn't tell you where it's at or how to begin troubleshooting that error. AI wasn't much help either. It says under the dash or near the seat.

It does warn to disconnect the battery before unplugging or moving any wires!!!!

Edit 2: THE ECU for an ROPS model is under the dash. For a cab model it is under the seat. Hope that helps.

I think I saw CAN communication errors when parts of the CAN system were not powered. Check all fuses.

ALSO, if you end up having to go to the dealer the engine ECU and related wiring SHOULD be covered under the 5 year emissions warranty.

Disconnect and pull the battery and have it load tested.
CAN errors can be attributed to a bad battery or battery connections.

Battery has always started it right up after running the glow plugs. Spins over good. I can get it tested I suppose. 👨‍🌾

that's good advice especially with the connection thought.

Also, we find error codes get thrown (then self correct quickly once blowing stops and machines dry out) when we use our equipment to especially blow the soft/fluffy kind of snow (versus wet/heavy)

Finger crossed for you that since you are not experiencing any problems other than the code it will magically self correct.

snow blowing around the battery, fuses, relays, etc... and near the air intake causes lots of small problems around here that magically fix themselves once the blowing stops and the dry down finishes. We notice on all makes of the modern/heavy computerized stuff that's so common these days.

Thank you we had a real light weight storm of about 6 inches and there was Accumulation around the front of the hood area. Going to be awhile before it dries out, -9 here this morning and 15 or 20 is as high as it has been. 👨‍🌾

Well the code is still there so I guess tomorrow I will have to start checking things out. Blew snow today with no problems and the regeneration went through a cycle with no problems. 👨‍🌾

Shouldn't be a hard code if the machine still functions okay. The image I shared in post #2 gives instructions on reading and clearing codes. You might just try to clear it.

I will check fuses and plugs etc and if I can't find anything to clear it I will try to delete it.

If the ECUs and sensors are ok a CAN communication fault is due to cabling and connectors.

Well I checked all the fuses and there are a lot of them. Unhooked the battery and checked all the connections I could find. still got the E21 code. Going to just run it I guess. 👨‍🌾

I got the code cleared by doing as you said, Delete it through the dash programing. Hopefully it doesn't come back. Thanks to all for the suggestions and especially Old Machinist. 👨‍🌾
