I am looking for protective covers for 1/4" hydraulic connectors which is the size used on the tractor. I bought a bunch of covers and although they fit very nicely and do their job when the hydraulic hose is disconnected they are too loose to stay together when the hose is connected and hence dirt will get into the covers and then into the hydraulics. No good so.

Does anybody know a company selling protective covers for the 1/4" connectors at a realistic price? I found plenty of covers for the bigger connectors but not for the small size. At this stage I am thinking of changing everything to 3/8" but they are not required and would be bigger too.

Good day.

I am not really sure what your price point is or what the damage would be to ship them to your location, but here are a couple places I’d start with.

1. Kensboltonhooks would be my first stop / check. They have exceeded my expectations with their service and transparency to me. If they have it I would buy from them. I add a T-shirt or two with every purchase. (I am very biased based on previous purchases with them)

2. Summit is about the best selection I have found recently. I’ve not purchased from them so I can’t comment much other than they have a bit of selection

I am not sure this helps or not since I believe both to be in 🇺🇸.

I looked at Summit earlier today. Nothing for 7241-A. Google also returned nothing but I did not spend a lot of time looking.

Hello,

thank you for the links !

But I am looking for ISO7241a and not for ISO5675. They look similar but as far as I know have a different diameter. And none of the sites had ISO7241 dust caps as far as I could see.

US would be no problem.

I spent so much time looking for those caps, at this stage I think I may as well make them myself. The small 1/4" are very unusual, 3/8" and above is much easier to find.

Hello Dan,

thank you for the link but I think they are the chinese ones from my picture above. The cap for the female part is too short and hence does not connect properly with the male cap.

And that type is the only one I found, so looks like DIY. Considering the time I spent already searching for those things I would have made 12 pairs already.

Or change everything to 3/8" which is probably the smart thing to do. Only I have bought all those quick couplers already. Never dawned to me that the dust caps are a problem...

They are Faster caps and plugs. Presumably made in Italy but...

Could be. A pity that they only show the cap in the connector, so I cannot see how long the piece is.

Also, as a nice to have, I would like to have six different colours. They show on their web site that they have all kinds of colours but the 1/4" is only black.

They have TFA/TMA 14 and then with R and V. Could not figure out from their website what the difference is.

If made in Italy I may get them in Europe with lower shipping cost. Will use the product name for internet search.

R is red, V is violet. Should be much easier to find in Europe than here in the USA.

Strange, on my browser it shows black for all TMA. The TFA 14 R is shown as red, but I am pretty sure when I followed your link initially it showed all black ... They joys of modern software ... :)
The Valpariso website is a disaster. The color info is from the Faster catalog.

They get a pass from me. They are the only stocking distributor I have found and thier prices are a small fraction of what the non-stocking distributors charge.

Dan
Yes, their prices looked ok to me. Some distributors I found wanted $24 for one pair of PVC dust covers ... yeah, sure ...
