Will a loader subframe from an L185 bolt up to an L1500DT? There's a 2WD L185 for sale locally with a Johnson loader, and I'm wondering if it's worth trying to buy just the loader. The 2 tractors are the same size, so the loader should be the right size. Or is the Johnson loader a POS that I should pass on? Other considerations I'm missing?

An L1500 is close to an L175, an l1501 is close to a l185.
l175's didn't have loaders as they were 2wd and wortless with a loader, yes someone has probably put one on it, but it really shouldnt be done.
Now a L185DT did have a loader option and yes aftermarket ones too, it's close to your model so it might work?
It might need the mounts redone to fit.
The Johnson loaders were fine, if it's never had any work done to it, check pins, valves and hoses.

A little off the subject,i thought the L1500 and L1501 were similar.

Looks like it's gone.2wd l185 with loader chains deck and snow blade for 3100. Probably should have bought the whole thing. Keep the loader and deck and sold the tractor for 2500
