This seems to be much like the “4wd Vs. 2wd” truck debate……

I speak from experience on this.

I had exactly ONE 2wd truck………..NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

"No Loader = No tractor” in MY opinion…...

Hell,……I’m 99% of the way to saying “No SSQA = No tractor"

I do/don’t/kinda understand the whole “I don’t NEED it” thing, but it’s just one of those “Un-written rules” that I follow……That time I did have a “brain fart” and I bought a 2wd truck was short lived though………………"Bless me Father, for I have sinned"🙏……...

YMMV though (y)

For an only tractor I whole heartily agree 👍 (And may I also recommend a BH? !!!)

But if you had three tractor's ... Would all three need to have 4X4 SSQA Loader's?

No, but a larger tractor with a loader would serve you better than the loader on your sub-compact. In fact the ideal situation would be two machines: a subcompact and a utility sized tractor with its a loader.

I agree, if you are thinking about it…go BIG… no reason to leave the kids and grandkids all of your money…this Kubota will put a smile on your face every time you climb aboard and it’ll tackle anything you throw at it… 1781628278872.png

That’s a bit larger than the utility sized machine I was referring to. A small MX utility or larger L would be ideal to match with a subcompact. Going to a B series if you have a subcompact and large L doesn’t make sense to me.

Never had kids, so no grands either!

My thinking was to get something to utilize my current SCUT sized attachments, and leave my SCUT TLB set up that way most of the time, but that leaves me with the option to pop the BH off and still be able to utilize those attachments ...

I set my L5030 up with a CAT 1 QH, so if push comes to shove I can use most of them, so far it has only used the brush hog and rear blade, I believe it has a bit more PTO HP than the "limited CAT 1" rototiller is rated for, I think it's for 15-25 HP ... And possibly the brush hog too, but I'm only cutting grass with it ...

Right now I can't think of anything that I really need more lift capacity than my current SCUT provides, yes, every year I get a ton pallet of wood heating pellets that I have to stack onto another pallet, and haul them to my back walkout door, then carry them inside to stack in the basement, while it would be less work to not have to do the first handling of them off the trailer, they still need to be finger printed to get them in the house ... So if I can do the second trip into the house, I should be able to also slide them from one pallet to the next ... I actually only burn about half a pallet per year (not home much to feed it!) but I got a deal, and bought two this time, to add to the other one left over in the basement already ...

I'm beginning to think that I might just keep what I got, and continue with the swapping the BH when needed, as it's less than 21 months until I retire, then it won't be as much of a time constraint on things ...

Since getting the L5030, it has taken a lot of the strain off from my little SCUT, as in mowing 14.5 acres, which takes less than half as long, and it's much more comfortable, plus it does water duty now too ...

Yes sir!

I understand it is a “personal thing”, and since it’s not my money, I can live with any decision you make. ;)

If I had 150 trucks, not one of them would be 2wd ……Same goes for loaders and tractors. In my world, they are “must have, package deal”.

Ironically though, I’m ok with SOME single shot guns???????? (Go figure???)

But I guess if the world did everything I said, it would be a very boring world……(it would also be a very "correct world”…just a tad boring….,.;)(y))
