Lift arms rubbing tires.

Got a new, to me, L2600DT with a LB400 FEL and a FTH720 Bush Hog finisher.


Having a hard time adjusting the turn buckle stabilizers to not hit the dang tires. I might try the telescoping bars but just not sure if that is the right fix. If anyone has a fix or work around on this set up, I would appreciate any ideas or photos of how to solve this. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with your specific tractor, but you should be able to adjust the stabilizers so they are centered. Is the problem you can't get them adjusted because the weight is restricting the movement, or is it because you just don't have enough room once the arms are on the implement pins?

If it's because the weight is restricting you, you can lift up the 3pt to take pressure off the implement wheels and allow movement side to side.

It the problem is there is just not enough room, you can remove the pins on the implement by removing the nuts and then put the pins facing in. This will narrow the width of the stabilizer arms.

Get the telescoping sway bars, makes a world of difference.

Also check the width of the tire setup, might help to move them out a notch if you have the adjustable setup.

Telescoping stabilizers will not make a difference- they are just as wide as turnbuckles. The issue is the backspacing on the rims, and this is a real common problem (stabilizer interference with the tires) on the older L series tractors. You need to move the tires out, either by reversing the rims (if possible), or using wheel spacers.

Having built hundreds of sets of stabilizers for L series Kubota's, and having not been able to because of interference, I am very confident in my opinion.

Bingo- that's another option, if it works. It won't, on some implements.

Something to try....
Our tractor has loaded 36" turf tires. Big fat donut looking things.

Flip one pin on the implement inboard. It will make your implement a bit offset to which ever side you want, but may help. It worked on an old well used, but useful 5' blade I got for cheap.

On our new Speeco PHD it worded best with both pins inboard. To use a standard cat1, 3pt draw bar, and other implemtnts we use 3 washers on each end of the pins, outside of the 3pt arm eyeball socket, under the Lynch pins. This lets the turn buckles easily center the lift arms between the tires.

Adapt, overcome, prevail.
