Any ideas on what this greenish colored leak is and where from? Waiting from dealer to get warranty work completed. Started leaking at 15 hours...still leaking at 26 hours. Tightened bolt with green substance on housing slightly, not wanting to strip it. Is this transmission oil? Antifreeze? Just not sure. Thinking a gasket is bad? Any insight from those much more knowledgeable than me is appreciated...:confused::confused:

On a side note...love my L3800 and the "workhorse" it is everytime!

Looks like antifreeze to me. You should smell and feel it to see if oily or watery.

Its antifreeze, but it's not coming from that bolt look up higher for the leak!
You can see from the photo that it's running down the block.

It is antifreeze unless you ran over a Martian and it got tangled up in your fan. I often mistake that green blood for antifreeze.:D

PWM3rd,

It's anti-freeze or gopher guts. Most likely anti-freeze. Don't absorb a lot of it but anti-freeze will taste sweet. It could have been overfilled. How's your overflow bottle look?

Burt,

My overflow bottle, curiously was at the "low level" line. I bought and refilled it to full level line on Friday with half/half antifreeze from O'Reillys. I kinda thought with the low hours I have on my tractor that it was strange to be low already. I will have to get a light and try to locate where the leak is coming from. It must be above the block where the leak is.

Check your clamps on the coolant lines. I usually have to tighten coolant lines on my new equipment after about 20 to 50 hours of run time.
