LandPride QH05 doesn't match my implements

I know this is discussed ad nauseam, but I've found very little information about this specific QH.

The width works just fine for all of my cat1 attachments. But the top hook doesn't match for any of them. It's also not adjustable.

Today I picked up the Agrisupply adapter and it doesn't really work either. It either puts the attachment at a super awkward angle or the hook still gets in the way.

I watched a video stating that with this adapter you're basically supposed to remove the hook from the QH and just use pins for the top connection with his adapter. I'm honestly fine doing that, except it forces me to cut off the top hook. Which permanently modifies this thing.

I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything silly before I do this. Cutting off the hook and using only the adapter seems like it will work with all of my current attachments.

In this picture it looks like if I placed a pin in the adapter, it would just fall into the hook, but it doesn't. The adapter doesn't turn down enough to fit into the hook. On my other attachments, it does rotate enough to fit, but because of the added distance, the attachment is pitched backwards quite a bit and would require a lot of adjustment from the top link to get straight up and down again. Cutting the hook off would stop this from happening.

Why not build a bracket off the bush hog frame to move the top pin outwards?

I made my own adapter for off-spec implements. Just get two steel straps a couple of inches longer than your minimum pin spacing. Drill 4 holes. Pin on and go.

Sorry, after re-reading this. This is essentially what the adapter that I purchased is supposed to do.

It doesn't place the pin down enough to engage the hook on some of my attachments. On others, it does engage the hook but it's so far out that it tilts the attachment back so far I would need to adjust the top link to bring it back in. Cutting off the hook and just pining the adapter to the top link and top of the QH seems to be the best compromise to me. Because then it would fit all of my attachments the same.

The speeco, harbor freight and others have a bolt on hook and it can be moved up and down. That's why most people by them.

This one was free.

I considered selling it and getting the HF, but then I'd have to deal with bushings. I really wish the hook was just removable on this.

I think this about the best time to buy a Welder! ;)

If you don't want to buy a welder, take the hitch to a welding shop and have them alter the top hook to a movable top hook!

IIRC, you bought a box blade, rotary cutter and a hay spike. I believe the BB was Kubota branded, but what brand(s) are the other attachments that the Land Pride QH does not work with?

Damn good memory! J-Bar (economy grade stuff) attachments are what came with it. I recently bought a Kodiak single plow and a trailer hitch attachment too.

I decided to just cut the hook off. Now I just have to line up a single pin. It's not "quick hitch" quick but it's leaps and bounds better than having to mess with the bottom links. I'd say this is probably the same as hooking up a Petes system. Everything comes on and off with just a few seconds and maybe half a grunt instead of minutes, thrown tools, a beer and a bunch of cuss words.

Again, this was free. So I didn't really feel too bad cutting it up. As you can see, I tried a few different modifications before chopping the hook. That was kind of a last resort to get this thing to work.

Not trying to hijack your thread, and understanding your hitch was free (like mine was when I requested it when purchasing my B2650). What's the difference between the QH05 and QH15, besides the adjustable top link? Since I haven't used the QH05 yet, now I'm worried I got the wrong quick hitch.

Howdy there .

I have a BX 25 and I hate to say that the QH05 quick hitch was one of the best buys I have made for it.
The quick hitch fits every 3point implement that I have .
I have - rear blade , rake, box blade ,rough cut mower and all hitch up no problem.
So I,m not sure if we have different tractor models or why it doesn't work for you .
To anyone out there with a BX 25 this is a must buy.
This is only my experience.
Thank you.
Neil from Alberta till next time ".
Cheers

I bought the cheap China quick hitch last year from the NH catalog. I did have to get a few sets of the bushings that slide over pins on the attachments so they mate to the hitch good. The QH is much easier if you work alone changing implements. On the china one the hook can be removed and repositioned up and down. I did buy the 'fork' attachment for the top link. And if someone is not mechanically inclined , its a real struggle to make something fit.

The QH05 was designed for the BX tractors, but probably works well for light use on a B tractor.
The QH05 weighs 37# versus 70# for the QH15 so its a lot easier to put on and take off.
The QH05 is rated for 680# 24"behind the lower links, matches the BX capability. The QH15 is rated for 2000#.
The QH05 is only designed for category 1 use and the QH15 is supposed to handle catagory 1,2,&3.

My brother recently bought a B2650 and added a QH05. The hitch works fine with his LP shredder (of course) but wouldn't work with his old blade from TSC. I had to do som cutting, welding and drilling on the blade but it now fits the QH. i guess if he buys any other 3pt implements and they aren't LP brand, I'll be doing more modifying.

I had the HF QH on my B3300 for a while but after adding rear remotes and then a hydraulic toplink, I changed to the Pat's quick attach. Adding a hydraulic toplink is one of the best things I've done.

The implements you are using are not quick hitch compatible. Many older and less expensive implements will not work with a quick hitch. Look at the production description of most new implements and it will say they are compatible.

Probably a little late answering this for you, but when I bought my tractor the dealer offered the QH15 but mentioned it probably wouldn't work with my smaller 48" attachments. I called LandPride and they confirmed, the QH15 would be too wide so the QH05 was my only option from them.

If I were doing it all over again, I'd still go with the QH05 because it was included for free and it's still working with my setup problem free.

If I ever upgrade my attachments I'll look into getting a different quick hitch. Until then I'm happy with my rigged up QH05.
