I had some scrap steel laying around and welding rods collecting dust so what did I do. Build a 7’ wide by 10’ long 2000lb scraper. Was going to try to not utilize the top pink in hopes wheels on the back would lift it high enough for transport but the geometry isnt quite right. Hopefully I’ll get around to welding on the top link attachment this week. Will post it when I do.

Curious to see how this design works.
So its 4x4 square tube probly 1/4" wall or what is the perimeter made of?

Perhaps its angle iron......my eyes are not what they used to be

It is 4x6. It’s actually 4” Channel someone at some point welded together. 1/2” Thick on the tall side 3/4” Thick on the narrow sides.

Looks like channel welded to form a box. Are you sure its 2000 lbs?
I know the loader on my MX5200 didn’t want to pick it up and it’s rated for somewhere above 2000lbs. I’d like to know an exact weight but don’t have an easy way to do that.

calculation the weight of a steel project is easy..
1st make a list of the pieces, length and thicknesses
2nd go online and locate a chart of 'steel shapes and weights' ( where you buy steel will have them...)
3rd add up the numbers...( 40' of 1/4" 4by6 @ xx #s = yyyy #s )

I saved the PDFs from a local supplier, makes it easy to figure out he weight of trailers that I build.

Never saw one with wheels. Don’t think they’ll do anything for you Except keep the blades from doing their job. Might want to make them height-adjustable if you keep them.

Hmmmm not a bad idea. May just load it up on the flatbed and roll over a scale. Or be lazy and keep guesstimateing. Lol!

Na the wheels are crap. Was only a good idea in my head. Live and learn no big deal.

If it weighs anywhere near what you think it does, the toplink will put a tremendous load on the tractor. I'd be scared.

How about rotating the wheels to the position they'd normally be found in and making them retractable? The weight would be shared between the hitch arms and the wheels.

The 3 Point is rated at 2300lbs. If it breaks it breaks that's what a tractors for lol! But yes that would probably be a good idea.

It's not so much the amount of weight, but rather the location of it. Most of the weight is way behind the tractor. It'd be a lot like letting the fat kid have the long end of the see-saw.
