I’m having an issue with my Kubota L6060 HST and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.

When mowing with a brush hog at around 2500 RPM, the tractor will suddenly idle down to about 800 RPM while I’m moving. If I let off the HST foot pedal, after a couple seconds the engine throttles itself back up to 2500 RPM and runs normally again.

A few details:
  • Fuel filter and water separator filter were both replaced about 31 hours ago
  • Stall Guard is turned on
  • There are no warning lights or codes showing other than the normal PTO and Stall Guard lights
  • From my understanding, Stall Guard should reduce travel speed/load on the HST, not actually drop engine RPM that drastically
Has anyone run into this before or have ideas on what to check next? Possible fuel issue, sensor, regen-related issue, or something with the HST/Stall Guard system?
