I am looking for a workshop manual for my la854 loader. it is on my l5740 rops tractor. my loader is locking up in the down position sporadically. just before the float/unload position it is getting a hard catch to it then it locks up and my loader creeps down. if i push hard past that point it will free up and go down normally. l5740 service manual doesn't show any thing for my loader valve so I am guessing / assuming it is all in the loader manual. new valve is expensive, so I wanted to see if there was any other repair or rebuild options. my tractor has a direct linkage to my loader valve, no cable so i am thinking it is internal to my valve.

I don't know if these 2 manuals will be of any use to you but they are free - just select the 'Loaders and buckets' category.

The loader valve is part of the base tractor so I would think that information is in the tractor WSM. In any event here is the parts diagram of the mechanical joystick linkage. It may well be binding. Inspect the operation and lubricate the joints in that pivot block as needed. You should also look at the operation of the clevises mounted on the valve. Hopefully that will resolve your problem.
