Hello all,

I'm interested in adding some work lights to my ROPS on my L5240/HST. I've acquired the lights and have constructed mounts to attach them to the ROPS (without modifying the structural integrity of the ROPS). I'm researching the best method to tie them into the electrical system. I've found the wiring diagram for my model (attached), and it shows three (3) separate "electrical outlets" at the bottom center of the diagram. I can't seem to find where they present themselves on the machine. I've found three plugs that are located by the seat switch plugs close to the rear right of the seat that would be my first guess as to where they are. Upon reading the WSM, it shows these plugs in the diagram, but with no reference as to there physical location. For the GST model the connectors on the right rear of the seat appear to be the emeregency connector to put the machine into gear in an emergency situation. Has anyone used these outputs for any 12volt applications? It seems as thought all three share a 10amp fuse on wire 0.5Y If anyone has experience in using these outlets, or where did you tie into the electrical system for worklights. Also, did you find a slick way to mount a switch for easy access? Any direction would be appreciated.

Cheers! Screenshot 2025-12-02 at 7.58.25 PM.png

I'm not familiar with that model and can't say where the connectors are located. Some models have a connector to the right of the seat. On a couple tractors I've added a switch in the dash after finding a spot that was vacant inside. It was a little more involved than some approaches but that is where i wanted the switch.

Just to put the cap on this post, I traced out the connectors and they do present behind the seat on the right side. They are fused at 10amps, and the lights I purchased draw 20amps. I ran a main power cable from the battery and used relays and switches to power the front and rear lights separately. I also added an aux 12v output for any future needs at the rear of the tractor. I used the factory aux 12v for the relay coils so they will be turned off with the key. I mounted the relays and switches on the left side under the cover for the cruise and H,M,L selector. Plenty of room and kinda water protected (even though all the units are IP67). Hope this helps the next guy.

I'd be interested in seeing the lights. That power draw is way in excess of anything I'm familiar with.

The lights individually draw 4.5amps each, so the total for the front and back combined is where I got the 20amp draw from. I also wanted a switched “aux” power source for things I don’t know I need yet. I have a total of 40amps capability fused to the back of the tractor. (10 for each set of lights, 10 for the aux, 10 in spare allotment just because)

The lights specifications say they are 10400 lumens, which is why I assume they have such a high power draw. But man those things will light up everything and anything with in 100’ of the tractor no problem. Couldn’t be happier with the results even if the installation was more complicated than a simple 10 amp switch and a couple of low draw lights. Good luck to the next guy!

Very nice installation, both for the lights and the switches. The switches look like marine grade variants.
