I just acquired an L4850. The clutch petal travel from unengaged to engaged feels like 1/16". The pedal itself travels almost 2". As you let it up, it moves about an inch then suddenly it's fully engaged. Is that normal for this tractor? Is there any adjustment to make it engage over a greater pedal travel?

Sounds like this machine has the EC "ever clutch" - where the foot pedal operates a valve under the floorboard with a linkage mechanism. The pto clutch is separate and operates by a hand lever near the seat.

Here's a page from my L5450 WSM, which I think is the same setup . From full-up, the drive clutch should start to disengage about an inch down from the top.

If yours is engaging/ disengaging much further down, something needs adjusting. Dick B.
