Hi, new to this sight. I just got a L4350dt, it was an estate sale, the old gentleman rode the clutch alot? Anyway, when i press the clutch all the way down, everything stops (like normal), when i let up on it about an inch the pto starts, then when its almost all the way up the trator starts to move.
A little pressure on the peddle stops the tractor. Is there a website to look at to see the innards of whats going on? How to fix this?

Have you checked the free play of the pedal? it should be 1 1/2 -2 inches. Might get lucky and adjust that and everything be fine. It will tell you how to adjust all this in your owners manual. If it didn't come with one I would suggest getting one. It's filled with info that you need to know.

Yep, 2 stage clutch. Some have a little lever to flip up to block the clutch pedal so you aren't stopping/starting the brush hog needlessly just to change gears.

What the clutch is doing is completely normal. That is the way those clutches work. (Just reinforcing what the others have said.)

I had a L3650 with that clutch for 20 years.

Sounds like you got lucky on the tractor.

I believe 1" of free play is the correct clutch position. Mine had a little more when I got it and would grind like mad trying to engage the pto. Adjusted free play to 1" and problem solved.
