I have heard mention of a HST safety switch but never have seen one. All the HST's I have seen have only the clutch and PTO switches.

I have a L4310. It has a clutch switch. It was never equipped with a switch on the HST pedal. I have to have the clutch depressed to start the tractor. I can have the HST pedal out of neutral position and start the tractor as long as the clutch is depressed.
I've looked over every diagram I have access to (and its a lot of info) and I don't see any clutch switch on any HST diagrams.
But it sounds like you're might have a clutch switch?
Wouldn't be the only oddity that I've seen on a Kubota.

From what I have read, can't find it right now, The early units had a HST switch and then they went to the clutch switch. I see a change in the switches at the 70000 sn break.

I would suspect this would be a more robust configuration.

Welcome to Kubota oddities 101:
You are exactly right they either eliminated the HST switch on later models or added a second switch can't tell.
