My L4240 HST, no cab, sat for a few weeks because it was too wet to bushhog. I've never had an electric issue with it, but the battery was dead. Charged it up, tried it again; nothing happened when I turned the key. Checked positive to body and had voltage, so not a bad ground. Checked all the fuses, no issues. Checked and had voltage at the starter, but not at the main fuse box above the battery. I ran a wire straight from the battery to the main fusebox, and it now runs, but the battery light is on (I was too lazy to check, but assume the alternator isn't charging although I had almost no voltage drop after about 2 hrs of bushhogging), and the HST pedal only controls forward/reverse, not the throttle. I needed to get some mowing done, so ran it jury-rigged and used the hand throttle. The WSM showed up today and I was expecting to see a fusible link before the main fuse box, but there wasn't one. I didn' t know it when I did it, but running the line from the battery to the fuse box should have restored it to it's original state (actual wire should be starter to fuse box). So I must have had more then one thing fail at once. It was running fine the last time I used it. It'll be a few days before I'm at my land again, but I noticed that an alternator wire runs through the starter switch, so I probably need to test that next. Any other ideas? Does the ECU control the throttle with the HST pedal position?
