L4060 HST sticking brakes or something else?

Hi all, new member here. I'm not new to tractors or mechanical repairs but I am new to having to work on my Kubota. It is a 2015 L4060HSTC with fairly low hours. I went to move some gravel the other day and the response from the pedal seemed really sluggish, almost like I had left the parking brake on. I checked and it wasn't that. Then, as I moved it a bit more to try and figure it out, I noticed when turning that it was like the rear wheels were not moving as freely as they should have been, causing steering to also be difficult.
I took the pressure washer to it last night to get it cleaned up before having a look at it today. I've been through the owners manual a bit, but it doesn't seem to cover the brakes in a whole lot of detail.
My thinking is, if I'm parked on an incline, put the range selector in Neutral and release the brakes, it should roll. It does not do this, so I'm thinking somehow the brakes are stuck. For now I'm going to trace out the linkage and see if I can find something obvious. Any suggestions?

Symptoms are like the rear axle differential lock is on. .

Engaging it and then removing your heel from the pedal does not guarantee it will pop out of engagement.

With the rear wheels locked together, turning the tractor is very hard.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. I was in some mucky areas and had to use it once but never really thought about it after that. I will give it a try.

Are you stuck in 4x4? Sometimes you shift the lever but it does come out of 4x4

Got it figured out. There is a U shaped guard over a large piece of hose that connects the fuel tanks from one side to the other. I must have run up on a stump or had something come up from underneath while raking with the landscape rake. The guard was pushed backward and up, resulting in it putting pressure on the right brake rod. All was good until I parked it and applied the parking brake. When I went to move it again, I released the parking brake, but the rod could not move as the guard was pressing against it, thus keeping the right brake locked. I was able to pry the guard mounts back into position and release the stuck brake rod.
I even noticed the fuel level came up a bit after the repair was made. The fuel hose was being pinched off enough to prevent the fuel from leveling between the tanks. Before today I did not know what this thing looked like from underneath! It was a big relief to know there wasn't something major wrong with it!

Root cause......you're right, it could have been a large root that did it
