Hey Ladies & Gents, I have a staring issue with my L3940, 6 years old, 800 hours. I finished bush hogging a field, tough stuff, heavy grass slowed the tractor right down to a crawl many times. Shut it off, went to restart 2 hours later, the dash lights would flicker erratically on and off and ultimately stay off while a "buzzing" noise came from the display panel. I took the steering wheel cover off, and as I turned the key I could feel the case of the dash display vibrate as it buzzed/clicked. Does this sound like a common issue and any suggestions on where to start the diagnosis?

Sounds like a dead/low battery to me. I'd suggest testing voltage, then putting a battery charger on it. If it starts after that, diagnose the charging system.

That was it, a jump from the F250 and all was well. I am going to clean and check all battery/ground connections, but after 6 years the battery might have given up the ghost.

Sounds like battery. With 6 years on it, I would buy a battery and clean the terminal lugs. Then start and run at approx. 1500 rpm; use a volt meter at the battery terminals. Should have 13.6 to 14.2 if the charging system is doing its job.

Sound advice. Also, clean the other end of each battery cable. Positive at the starter, and wherever the ground cable connects to the frame or engine.
