Hey all, this seems like a kinda silly post, but the suspension adjustment handle on the seat is frozen, I.e., I can’t get it to move, and I really want it to. But only if I don’t break it!
I've lost a lot of weight in the past year, and now the seat stays at the top, so not a lot of fun …
should just turn, but it won’t…
the tractor is stored inside a barn (concrete floors) when not in use. Any tricks to break it loose?
thanks!

Have you tried a “penetrating oil” yet.

Something like PB Blaster, or Kroil……(pick your flavor)

Not just yet.. I don’t tend to think of that approach, for some reason..
found it like that today when grading the road. Looked at the mech, but didn’t see anything obviously looking damaged or rusted. So thought there might be something locking it or something. The handle is solid frozen. Guess I’ll pick up some oil, and start spraying..
told you guys it seemed a silly question.. ;)

Not a silly question at all.

You might be 100% correct, that there is an “unlock” button somewhere.

I was just “presuming” it’s corroded.

Good luck. (y)

You might try putting weight on the seat that matches your previous weight. I assume you were sitting on the seat compressing the springs and then screwed the knob tight. Now you have a good spring load against the mechanism that you are trying to turn. Remove that spring load and that will let the force on the mechanism to be lessened and possibly easily turned.
