I might need to leave y tractor in the country a few nights, is there a good way to hinder the tractor from an easy start by thieves of opportunity?

I pull the main fuse as well. Bought a little pill caddy on a key ring that it fits in perfectly and I keep my keep the key on the same ring.

If it's like mine there are two fuses in the same holder. The higher amperage one kills all power to the tractor. The lower amperage one doesn't appear to be connected to anything and is there for an easy auxiliary hookup.

I would put a in-line fuel shut off at the injector pump so when closed it would run out of fuel fast. Obviously no thief can be trusted but if they have to work for it most times they will leave it.

One thing that I have noticed on other forums, people taking pictures with their phones and posting them to the forum. I have been able to get the GPS location on a large number of the pictures. A lot of the pictures are taken in their driveway or around the house, this would make it very easy for someone to know where to find the tractor in the picture. I have written to the operators of the forum that I have been able to get the most data from and asked them to strip out that EXIF data from the JPG images to protect the posters of the forum, but I haven't heard anything from them.

Just something to think about when you post pictures of your tractors or anything else you are post a picture of.

My background is in computer security in case you are wonder why I would be checking images for GPS data.

Ok guys it's morning! The thread title is, "L3901 anti theft disabling".

If you disable an anti theft device are you making it available for thieves?

Kinda like a "hot water heater"! Redundancy of words make it NOT what the intended thought is.

Alright, I have to go pick up a bottle of Argon/CO2 so I can weld a Bo-Bo.

Thanks for the thought fodder. I was hoping there was a connection I could unplug and at least keep the honest folks honest. Fuel shut off is probably the best avenue, I will have to look things over and see what I can do.

I have read in other forums if you good at electrical you can wire in a master power key that is hidden to keep somebody from starting the tractor, but that is still not foolproof.

Sad part is if they want it they will get it and if they cant get it most times they will damage it so badly you wish they did get it. I new a guy inhigh school that had a sweet 57 2 door hard top hopped to the max for those days. He put a hidden master disconnect switch for the battery. Some enterprising young midnight auto employees tried to steal it,, couldnt get it started so they burned it right there in his drive way

I read somewhere someone took one wheel off. That would be effective.
North of me atv thefts are popular. My buddy takes his seat in the house whenever its parked outside. Then it looks like its broke down.
