I recently found that my L3830 without the mid PTO option was continuously displaying a mid PTO-light in the instrument panel. The tractor started and ran fine, but when the rear PTO was engaged the mid PTO RPMs were displayed, not the rear.
Everything I found online referencing the mid light being on seemed to be tied to a starting or running issue. What I found was that below the seat behind my right leg there’s a slot where the engagement lever for the mid PTO option would go. Behind that, up under the fender there are two plugs that are used for the mid option. Each of those plugs had a factory jumper plugged into it and one of them had a frayed and broken wire. I replaced the factory jumper with another piece of wire and the problem was solved.
Hopefully this will help someone in the future.
