I've had my new orange tractor for almost a month now, and the LA524 loader on my L3800 seemed a little anemic to me. I found a thread on here about boosting the hydraulic pressure on the L3400 (which is silmilar), So I asked my dealer about the setup on my loader. I was told that Kubota sets the relief valve at the MINIMUM setting. It has plenty of room to adjust and still remain in spec. They even came out to my place and installed the shims at no charge. I must say it makes all the difference in the world. My bucket runneth over.

relief setting on L3200 and L3800 is 2280 to 2410 psi. It is probably safe enough to go to 2500 psi but you are on your own above 2410 PSI !

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to increase the pressure a tad or two on my L3800? I am going to put a rebuilt Long 1199B backhoe on the back soon when I am done welding up the sub-frame. I want to have decent operating speed. My Ansung 2540C FEL is fantastic but is a bit slow. I just wonder how to increase the speed? And if anyone has any pics of how Kubota's backhoe's subframe bolts to the frame, let me see so I can best make my subframe.
And where can I get one of those gauges? Maybe Ebay has a China one for cheap (only need a few times).
This Long backhoe from the 80's made in North Carolina weighs within 15 pounds of the Kubota hoe, and is not a banana boom, it's a square tubing built rig. Seems rugged enough. I just rebuilt all the cylinders and 2/3 of the valve stack but ran out of wipers/orings so waiting on shop to get them in so I can finish.
My 3 point hitch is still a jerky piece of crap, just yank it up all at once is the only option, if I want finesse I have to use the 1952 8N Ford.

Look under the right floor board, if I remember it is a 22mm wrench fits the cap it is on the bottom of the block where your hoses hook up. Be sure your loader is on the ground and move the loader control in all directions with the engine off to release any pressure. When you remove the cap there will be a spring, valve and may or may not be any shims. Hopefully there will be a shim, this what I used for sizing and found several flat washers the same diameter and when checking the thickness with a micrometer found several thicknesses. Try adding and as others have said with a gauge on one of the loader quick connects check your pressure if it is too high you will need a thinner washer to low a thicker washer or two washers. Your 3800 is the same as the 3400 and 3700 I have bumped up one of each so far. Hope you can follow my chicken scratch.

Sammy--I follow your chicken scratch perfectly. I got the the remote kit off of ebay last summer from the immigrantpines guy for 485, then fittings and such was another 200 bucks or less I'd say. So I got familiar with that block where the power beyond and all that stuff was. Curve ball here---I have an ANSUNG FEL not Kubota (saved a few thousand and works just as good so far as I can tell, lifts tight 4x5 round bales, safes, huge culverts and logs etc). I'll bet the ANSUNG has a similar set up with the washers. I am excited to go check. Thanks sir!

If I am completely wrong it will not mater which loader you have the relief valve is Kubota and is on each of the basic L tractors from the factor.
Odd, I have an LA524 on my L3200 and it's not anemic at all. Maybe the dealer already adjusted it (they seemed to be really on the ball with the unit) but it's speedy and strong.
I also haven't had a problem with my 3 point yet, but if I do, the dealer will work with me on it.

I had my L3400 for 4 years before I made the adjustment. It was around 2400 if I recall. Bumped it up to 2600 with a #10 SS washer from the hardware store. The tractor would always lift a full bucket of material, but after the adjustment, it was much easier to break out of the material bank.
I know this is an old thread but where did you find the numbers for the relief valve pressure setting?
