Hello All. About a month ago I purchased a new L3800 HST. First evening I was out "working" on the machine I definitely realized this tractor needs way more light to do anything after dark. Factory headlights are worthless when doing loader work. I'm fairly versed in wiring having done a fair bit of automotive and truck wiring in a previous life. I have settled on going with LED lights (for minimal wattage drain) and clamping them to the ROPS. The question I have after searching old posts for solutions is where are most of you mounting the switches? I would like to go with marine grade as the possibility of moisture is high, but after staring at the tractor for awhile I am still trying to figure out a good place to mount them. I am wanting a good, clean look and to keep exposed wires to a minimum. I had initially thought to tap into the under fender work light circuit (4 x 27w LED should draw less than 10 amps), and putting manual switches in line, but It is very small wiring and I have a tendency to over-do lighting. I will likely end up direct wiring to the battery with a fused link on the main, followed by a fuse in each circuit post junction box. Any suggestions on a good sealed junction/switch box as well? I have made my own before with small pelican type cases, but would like a more commercial looking box. Thanks in advance and loving my little orange machine!

On my L3200 I bought 2 marine grade toggle switches with rubber boots and mounted them in the cover that is on the Lh side, that the levers come up through- for high, med, low range, cruise ect. They are out of the way and it is a good place to neatly run your wires.

Here's where I ended up putting my switches. I did the same mod, adding 4 x 27w LEDs. All the wiring is hidden under the surface and connected to the aux light fuse that came with my Grand L 3540. Hope this helps.
