I hope everyone has been having a good week so far. Yesterday I began working on getting my PTO gaskets replaced and checking the over all health of bearings and all that jazz. Once I got out the gears on the PTO cover off and knocked out the shaft seals I noticed that the shaft seal's spring was facing inward, towards the fluid. I was wondering if that is correct for this type of tractor or if the seal was installed wrong previously? Also there is another seal called a Slinger. The slinger was in between the shaft seal and the cover. In the manual it shows the Slinger on the outside of the PTO cover. where is the correct placement for the Slinger?
