I recently bought a used L3710hst and am noticing a great power loss on hills. I basically will start to go up a hill and the engine will slowly lose rpm until it stalls. I have tried to use low range and the same result. Even a gradual rise in grade will cause this. Seems ok on flat ground. I am keeping the throttle around 2k rpm while in use and am not powering any implements. Tractor is new to me and have only owned it for a few days. No abnormal noises. Thanks for any replies

Brak, is this your first HST machine? Are you pressing the HST pedal MORE as you go up the incline? You will note that the HST works the opposite of what you expect, you will have to LET OFF of the pedal a little while climbing a grade, not press harder.

Also, are you sure the brake is off?

I have an L3710 and I can climb pretty steep grades even in H range, however I have to let off the pedal a bit and the RPM needs to be at least at 2000.

It is my first HST but am aware of the operation of the foot feed. I checked the brakes by putting it in neutral and rolling it on a flat surface seems OK.

I also just learned that when it stalls the fuel filter bowl is empty. Looks like a restriction in the line. Is there a filter in the tank?

My BX 2370 did that to last summer thought is a plugged fuel filter, after pulling the inline filter I found the fuel line coming from tank was restricted, I hooked an air hose to line removed the fuel cap and blew air back into the tank at 10 Psi
The line cleared I've not had any issues since
The inline filter is on the fuel line between the tank and the fuel filter going to the injector pump

Sounds like a silly question but is the fuel turned on at the bowl? There is a manual shut off on that model I believe.

If the lever is turned on, like Tractorguy said, take off the hose and blow it out. Try blowing lightly from the tank (don't blow up your tank, it doesn't take much pressure) and then blow from the hose end if blowing from the tank doesn't work.
