As I mentioned in an earlier thread I have a charging problem with my tractor. The battery tested good, the voltage regulator is new. I think the old one was okay, too, but I replaced it just in case. The alternator tested bad. This is the second alternator in less than 3 years. I bought the alternators from a Kubota dealer. What would cause the alternator to go bad so quickly? I don't want to put in another new one and have it burn out by next summer.
Thanks for any suggestions.

A couple things come to mind.
Running in a dirty enviroment, dirt accumulates in alternator and brushes hang up or wear out.

Exposed to wet enviroment and corrosion/moisture gets to internal components.

Heat/vibration causes a break in the stator/rotor windings.

Find an auto electric service shop in your area, they should be able to repair it.
Parts are readily available for almost every alternator on the planet. I dont think any reputable shop will have a problem with it.
