Hi everyone, I have a L3400 and want to add work lights,Now there is an an extra electrical connector under both rear fenders by the existing flashers. Does anyone know there designed use? The wire diagram doesn't show them.
What voltage is present at the leads, and when are they hot? I assume they will read 12+vdc. Do they come on steady with the the head lights? You might consider using a relay if you plan on using high wattage lights so you don't over draw you electrical system. Here is the L3400 wires I guess your looking at?
If it's the wire i think your talking about(yellow I think), you will more then likely find it'll blow a fuse if hooked to a light as soon as you put it in reverse...assuming your tractor is hydrostatic that is. I tried using it for mine but blew fuses soon as I hit the pedal. I never bothered figuring out what it was for, i just ran a new wire to power the lights.
Thanks guys.Yes that,s them. Yellow and black wires, yellow is hot with ignition on black is earth They are not connected to the light switch. You would think if Kubota went to the trouble to wire in for work lights they would give you a spot to install a switch. phildac my workshop manual does not have that drawing in the electrical section what book do you have?
My B8200 has an auxillary wire that is hot with the key as well. I ended up running it to a switch that controls a relay that turns on my work lights. I have also seen people drill a hole in the light housing and install a small toggle switch in the light in order to turn it on and off. Something like this...
