Are there any L3350 battery options other than the Kubota battery, part # 77700-00454 that's still available? Not opposed to getting one from the dealership, I was hoping for something quicker than ordering from dealer, waiting a few days for shipping, making the half hour drive to pick it up. Are there any NAPA, Advance Auto, Walmart type batteries that would work? I read somewhere that a comparable replacement could be a Group 29?

I believe the"Kubota" batteries are made by Interstate ... This says it's a group 2 ... https://www.messicks.com/parts/kubota/77700-00454 which everything I've read is a 6 volt battery! So I think they are missing a number!

The top of your battery should tell you both what size group it is, probably a 24 or 27 ... And the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) you will want your new battery to have at least as many, or more CCA as the old one.

Measure you case and take note of + - post arrangement and buy the largest group size possible. My trailer, 841 Ford, 65 MF, 97 Silverado and boat have group 65 batteries which are 25% larger than factory.

Thank you to all who have responded. The current battery has no information on it, just a black case with the word Second etched in the case. Most of the Group 29 batteries I found were Marine batteries. Looking at Group 27 battery at Tractor Supply, physical size is close to current, 810 CCA, made by Interstate.

I ended up going with an Interstate Group 31 battery. Cables all cleaned up, turned the key for the first time in nearly a year, I heard the starter and fuel solenoid click, but the starter didn't turn. After turning the key on/off a few times eventually the starter engaged and tractor started. I let it run for a while, shut it off. Started the tractor again a few times, no problems. Today, same thing again. I do own the Kubota service manual, any suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting?

Have the starter and solenoid checked out for proper operation (or do it yourself).

Clean the safety switches or add a relay that is controlled by the existing wire to the starter solenoid (black with white wire?)

Search for starter helper relay but here is the schematic of how it is wired.

If all else fails remove the starter and clean the mounting surface on the starter and the block with emery paper. That is part of the ground system.

Thanks for the response, I've done the starter helper relay on my TG1860. As mentioned, tractor has sat for almost a year under a car port. I do hear the solenoid click when I turn the key. I'll check the safety switches and test the starter and solenoid, thanks again.

Mine that sits out under a roof also will not turn starter 100% of the time. Every once in a while it will just click on the first try at starting, next time it will always spin the engine. I have done just about everything I can think of (replacing battery, replacing starter, replacing the complete wiring harness, replacing the one safety switch it has, replacing battery cables) and in a few days or weeks it is back to same operation. I have a new Denso stater to put on but just haven’t yet. I will do that eventually and may put a relay in if it continues but I’m okay since it starts every time. I just am annoyed that it happens still.

All the new parts were needed due to age, not just the annoying start process so I have not just been replacing parts WillyNilly!
