My L3301 hydro tractor stops very abruptly when you take your foot off the pedal. Is there a way to to adjust this so it will slowly come to a stop instead?

Thanks for the help.

The transmission whines a lot also.

If this part is bad, the HST will stop abruptly.

Easy now Dan...

Firstly, WELCOME to the forum and lots of good info from the folks here!

The whine is pretty normal and can be worse under heavy load, gear selection, going uphill, full bucket etc. It is hydraulic connection & not a direct response to throttle input.

They take a bit of getting used to with seat time & working the pedal/tredle, but can be abrupt if you come off fast (thus the easing off point).

Any other details? Is the tractor new or used (how many hours), when does it happen, how cold, ambient temp or warm-up time etc.

I suspect I’m likely starting to experience a little bit of this failure myself—I start to depress the HST pedal and instead of smoothly starting out, seems like more and more it finally moves along a bit later than it used to (so on the opposite end of the intended dampening action of this part, I suppose).
After 1600hrs and 8years, it’s not all that surprising. Looks very easy to swap out.

A bad dampener will not delay HST movement.
You have a different issue going on.
When was it's last full fluid and filter change?

By the book anyway, both filters and fluid should have another 20hrs left from when I last did them (HST every 200hrs and Hyd/Fluid every 400h, so I’ll do that first.
Thanks
