Remind me, did you take compression readings before you started? :confused:

I had to go back and look and I wrote it
Compression readings we're about 330 psi cold engine on all 4. It was about 25 degrees on that day.
The spec shows 412-469 psi
They don't seem to be that bad but the tractor puffs Blue Smoke and drips what I now know is oil out of the exhaust on 3 ports

Yea 330 is bad.

Spec the cylinders for excesive wear, if not re-ring , and hone.
If it's over either bore and go .5mm over pistons and rings or resleeve, new pistons and rings.

And have the head completely rebuilt.

Then before you do anything remove all of the air cleaner setup and triple check every part, as it sounds like you have dusted the motor.

Hi guys, performed all the cylinder liner bore measurements yesterday
Cannot find the out of round, warpage and taper specifications in my L3250 workshop manual. Looked everywhere

Cylinder Liner ID (RV): 3.346
Cylinder Liner ID (AL): 3.352

Thank you for the specs but I still need the Cylinder Liner out of round, warpage and taper tolerance specifications on the V1902-DIA.
He did give you the info:
Cylinder Liner ID (RV): 3.346
Cylinder Liner ID (AL): 3.352
Piston Diameter: 3.343

Liner out of round will be any dimension where the sides vary.
Warpage will be will be a variance in the taper from top to bottom.
Taper tolerance will be where the RV at AL change at a greater rate than spec.

Oh, I expected an out of round tolerance limit of something like 0.001?? Max Warpage 0.002 and MaxTaper 0.008 or 0.009.

Those numbers are similar (lower) to a Ford Ranger with a 3.779" bore size.
There has to be some allowable limit right?? Nothing is perfect??

Also, what does RV stand for? Looks like RV represents the minimum factory specification wear dimension?
My factory spec wear range = 3.34646 to 3.34732.
My allowable limit is 3.3532

Kubota does not give those specs.

This is the only tolerance specs they give on cylinder bore.

There motors are not know for having warpage or out of round issues.

Hi guys, I purchased a cylinder liner/sleeve removal tool (for V1902DI) with puck dimensions to fit the 85X88.5mm sleeve. Results: sleeves wont budge?
I believe that the outer dimension of the sleeve is 88.5mm but I'm not 100 % sure.
Tried some heat but so far no success.
Tried trimming the puck's outer dimension down to about 87mm to make sure I am only pulling on the sleeve. Still nothing.
Tried to use a screwdriver to catch the edge of the liner on the deck side but there is no seam on any of the 4 liners? All I see is a very faint discoloration of what could be the liner but no seam.

Is this normal ?? Shouldn't I be able to see a seam?
Also, does anybody know what the outer sleeve dimension is?

Just wanting to confirm that the puck is being pulled by a screw using a nut to apply pressure with the puck against the sleeve.

Then you tighten the nut and nothing happens. You may need to apply a mechanical impulse (hammer rap) to overcome the initial friction. So turn a little, rap a little, until the sleeve frees up and keeps moving.

Make sense?

Yes that is exactly the kind of puller that I have.
I have been banging on the puller frame and nut just to generate some vibration but obviously its not enough. I could try wacking at the puck from the bottom using a pipe fed between the crank shaft.

In addition I could also try using a lot more heat. I have a very powerful heat gun or I can use propane?

Why don't you give us the best pictures top and bottom that you can of the clyinders as some V1902 do not have liners. ;)

And you do not want heat, you want cold, you need to shrink the liners not expand them, I pack mine in dry ice to install them, would be the same for removal!

Wolf Man is right. The first thing to do is be sure you have sleeves. I have never had any luck pulling sleeves in a Kubota engine. The sleeves will need to be bored after installation so I always have the machine shop remove them.They set up there boring bar offset to one side and bore the old sleeves out and then peal it out.

Well if that's the case then I just ruined one of my cylinders by cutting into it looking for the liner edge that doesn't seem to be there.

Okay I'll get some closeup pictures.

No sorry like 007kubotaguy said, the block will need to honed or bored to except the sleeves, and then they will need to be bored and honed to spec to except the pistons.
I take it you bought sleeves from Kumar Bros?
