Hello,
Just bought a L3240 with the R4 industrial tires and want to put the mid mount mower on it. It's my understanding the Kubota does not recommend the mmm with R4 tires. Yet, I believe I had read somewhere that it can be done - you just cannot raise the mower deck all the way up.

Has anyone tried placing a midmount mower on the L3240 with R4 tires? If so, what was/is your experience doing that (i.e. clearance issues)?

thanks

Thats exactly the setup i have. No issues whatsoever with the tires or the mmm. It had turf tires on it when i first looked at my tractor, which i didnt want. I remember them talking about a issue with R4 and mmm, but in the end it all worked out. They might have installed smaller size R4 tires to make room for the R4's. Not sure...
Here is what i have
Front tire: 10-16.5 NHS Carlisle
Rear tire: 420/70-24 Titan

MMM: Rc72-38

I was told they did not work as well, so put turf tires on my new L3540. I actually like them better then I thought I would. Didnt want to have to have to worry about raising mmm only up part way. Turf tires seem to work very well in snow and do a nice job on the lawn.

Thank you for the replies. I wish I could get some more info/replies, but none the less, I decided to give it a try. Waiting on a few parts for my mower (bought it used and was shorted some parts), should be in this week and then will try to hook it up and see what's gonna happen. I'll post the results, so everyone will know...

OK, so it took awhile for the connecting rods to come in... The verdict -- I can raise it all the way without hitting or scraping the tractor tires, however I could notice that the rotating front corner castors on the deck, if rotated backward-diagnogly could possibly hit the tractor front tire on the R, as it is maybe an 1" away when in this position. But, if the deck is lowered just a few inches (like 7 1/2 to 8 on the raising lever) then the problem is solved. Thus, this is definitely easily doable without issue. And of course, it mows fine. The pic makes it look a bit closer than it actually is, due to my angle of view, I reckon
