This tractor has about 1900 hours and starts and runs fine. Fuel filter recently replaced and fuel regularly conditioned with Diesel 911. My fuel is pumped into the tractor through a filter and water separator on the fuel barrel. However, the engine randomly cuts out. When I turn the ignition to restart as long as I hearing the 'click' when the switch engages the engine starts fine and purrs like a kitten. If there is no 'click' sound it cranks and won't start. Often when it stalls I will hear the 'clicking' sound. Tractor is not low on fuel when this happens. It seems like an electrical issue that cuts off the fuel supply. Not sure if it's a bad ignition switch or something else.........thoughts??????

You probably have a safety switch problem, check the hydro pedal linkage switch.

It could also be your fuel cut off solenoid.

Last time I looked, 911 is supposed to be used for waxed up filters, not to condition fuel. Power Service in the white bottle is for winterizing diesel fuel and Power Service in the gray bottle is for general diesel fuel conditioning IIRC. There a re other fuel conditioners also. I'm not sure that it's a good thing to use 911 for this purpose.

have seen a bunch of FUSES being loose in the socket, or just broken, cause this exact problem.

Also look at your battery cable. Positive cable. It has the main cable (that runs to the starter) and another cable that plugs into it, that one feeds the rest of the electrical system. Iv'e seen a few of those get corroded/break and sometimes intermittent problems ensue.

Also possible solenoid failure. Is the solenoid hot to the touch when you are experiencing this?

Safety switch could be an issue too, although on the 3130's I don't recall them being problematic. On the start side, it would be either pto, clutch, or hst switch but they would also give trouble in other occasions too such as using the tractor pto, or changing directions (HST switch).

Ok, fuel solenoid replaced but did not cure problem. Safety switch on seat not working so I replaced that, problem still occurring. Buddy checked some things and we thought it was a bad neutral switch on the transmission..........replaced but problem not cured. Something, somewhere is defective or theirs a short or a bad ground perhaps but I still have the issue of the fuel solenoid clicking on/off intermittently. Tractor purrs like a kitten until this happens.......arghh, any ideas out on the internet......

Possible that the solenoid is working intermittently, or possibly not getting the correct voltage from time to time.

Dig out your workshop manual and diagnose--the manual gives you pretty good instructions on how to diag.

Ok, since I ran out of skill and options, it was necessary to send the tractor to the dealer where I bought it. Problem turned out to be the operator presence controller, which I have yet to locate on the wiring diagram but am told it's behind the dash. Anyway, labor was twice what the parts cost. But, Mrs. Kubota is home and running well.
