L305DT split collar in drive axle assembly

I have a seal leaking between the upper case and lower case of the drive housing. I've got it apart to the point of removing the vertical shaft with the split collars.

What holds them in their position? Are they held in by the bevel gear? How to remove them so I can get to the seal? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks. len

Remover cover 20 drop down parts 25,24,12,8,10,9 then remove clip 14 and down with 12, That should let you drop the lower housing and get to the seal.
If you want to take it apart the rest of the way, remove cover over 11,and 13, drive shaft 7 up to remove 11 and 13 and ultimately 26 and 7 out the bottom.
