I have a L3010 and recently I put some dirty fuel in it and decided to drain the fuel tank and change the filters. After filling with good fuel and new filters I began bleeding the lines to start the tractor. After several attempts at bleeding, it still acts like it's getting air in the system somehow. I'm getting bubbles cracking the lines. Is it possible trash got to the injection pump? Injectors? This tractor has always been a pain to bleed and restart after filter change. Any help would be very much appreciated.

One 'trick' a friend used on another diesel was to lift a jug of diesel higher than the tractor, then gravity drip fuel from it, into the pump, crack open the closest line. when only fuel ran out, connected that one, then did the same to the next and next and next (6 x for him). He said it took far less time AND didn't KILL the batteries.....
might work for you ?

Bleeding the lines can be simple - but sometimes fail, simply because the person did not allow the fuel to bleed enough - open the throttle - hit the starter and let it eat for a 20 seconds, pause and repeat until you get no bubbles.

If it had a good filter in place then it shouldn't have gotten trash in the injection pump.

Have you verified that you get good gravity flow of fuel out of the fuel filter line that goes to the lift pump?
Have you verified that you get a good pulsed or gravity flow to the input to the injection pump?
Have you cracked the injection lines at the injectors?

Last year I cracked my fuel filter housing. Replaced it and the filter, made sure the bowl was full, but there was still too much air in the system. I looked in the manual and found the bleeder knob. opened it up, cranked the engine, and in 15 seconds it was purring like a kitten. Closed the knob - done.

Se 1:35 on this video (I did not crack the injector lines, just opened the knob)

i didn't read all the posts, so bear with me

you don't need to crack any lines loose. The knob is how you bleed it.

now, where'd ya crack the lines loose? At the injector (cylinder head) or at the pump? If at the pump, you've likely turned the delivery valve while trying to loosen or tighten the line, which at that point the pump has to come out and be sent in for repair. It cannot turn at all. not even a tiny bit.

and another little tidbit which is irrevelant at this point, but I'm gonna say it anyway. When changing the fuel filter, you don't have to bleed the system after changing it (on this style filter anyway). Turn the valve off on the filter housing. Then remove the filter ring, change the filter, clean out the bowl. Now reinstall the ring nut, bowl and o-ring, with the new filter inside the bowl. BUT don't tighten the ring nut all the way. Now turn the valve on and let the bowl fill up. As it fills, diesel will start to leak around the ring nut. You will see fuel and air coming out. Let it run out until the bubbles subside, then tighten up the ring nut without turning the valve off. You're done. Start the engine and go on about your business.
