L2900/L481 Problem

I've searched the forum and have not found anything that helps. I was pushing over some brush with the loader and pulling it back off the fence row this weekend. I would then engage the bushhog and run over it to cut it up. I was having no problems. Then on one pull the loader would not raise. No loader function would work. Checked to see if I blew a hydro line or come disconnected under the tractor. All good. The 3 point won't raise now as well. I still have Power Steering and shuttle shift. I backed it back to the house. The bucket is "floating" and no pressure on it at all. Any ideas since it was a sudden problem?

It sounds like you lost hydraulic power from the tractor to the FEL valve and so no power out of the FEL valve to the 3PH.

I suggest that there may be a quick disconnect not 100% connected since it was sudden. There should be a block on the tractor where three hoses are connected. Follow those hoses to where they connect at the FEL valve and if there is a quick disconnect take it off, clean it and then reinstall the disconnect. Clean all disconnects at the valve and reconnect them is another way to achieve the same goal.

If that doesn’t fix it look at the same block where the three hoses connect (or read your operator manual) to see if there is something to turn the hydraulic flow for using the FEL when installed. Turn it fully one way and everything should work, turn it fully the other direction and only the 3PH should work. Nothing might not work if it is turned only halfway.

It might be that the pump or pump drive failed IF your tractor has a separate implement pump from the power steering pump (which Kubota does often). But there are ways to test that if none of the above fix it.

Good luck and post back what you find and describe what you did to fix it if you get it working.

What do you mean the bucket is "floating"?

No pressure or down force on it. When this happened it was curled some and I was on a part of the property away from the house. To get back to the house I drove in reverse all the way home. The bucket just "floated" over the ground and I was just dragging it.

First thing I would check is the joystick linkage. Sounds like it may have come apart with the boom locked in float. Kubota joysticks seem to be prone to that sort of failure.
