I recently purchased a L275 4x4 with fel. Was told the power steering seal was leaking. PS seemed to work fine. Turns out the sector shaft was welded (terrible hack job) and looks like the steering box is beyond repair now. Apparently 4x4 PS boxes are very scarce and new ones are no longer available. Tractor otherwise is in great condition. Would install a manual box but I'm worried about hard steering with a loaded front bucker. Any idea on where to source a usable steering box?
Thanks,
Joe

The power assist offered by the original style steering box isn't very strong so you might not find a new aftermarket manual box that much harder to steer.

If you've not done so already there is a few threads in here on power steering you might can get some ideas from. If recall right most were about tractors in the era of the L275

Maybe start with a search for ( "power steering" L275 )

Otherwise mount a manual box. Easier to find.

A 4x4 fabrication shop that builds/repairs rock crawlers (or a talented backyard hack) could probably build you a power assist set up with an orbital? valve and a cylinder. An Ag/Tractor shop may can do the same.
