New guy here, picked up a 72ish? L260 from an old friend of mine, he had it for god knows how long and when I asked him about it one day he said I could have it and just had to go pick it up. Bad news was that a few years ago the steering box went to hell in a hand basket and he took it all apart and tried to fix it. Since then he lost the box itself and the whole dash assembly is sitting on the frame. So I cant find one to save my life, but there is a parts guy about 50 miles from me that has one from an l285 he thinks I could retro-fit. So I guess I'm here wondering if anyone has done a retro-fit like this and if there is anything I should know before committing to it.
I also have to get a shop manual for it and find out how the dash goes back together and find a battery and if I recall correctly the battery mounts on the inside the hood between the dash and the fuel tank?
