L260 Injection Pump Issues

I'm a high school vocational teacher teaching Ag Mechanics. We currently have a 70's model L260 in our shop with fuel issues. We popped the cover to find one of the injector pump springs to be broke. I've since gotten new springs, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them installed. I feel like I'm over looking something simple. Any help is appreciated. The engine model is Z1300.

I don’t know how to do any repairs on an injection pump but you can see a poor parts diagram here

Yeah I have already studied the diagram on kpad for a while trying to figure it out. No luck. I'll probably end up contacting Oregon fuel injection though, thanks!
