Hey y’all,
So I’m new to all this and having an issue with my new L2502, only 30 hours on it. Whether idling or operating my tractor overheats within 10 minutes. Just winding if anybody else has had an issue like this before? I have flushed and changed the coolant and still having the problem. Thanks ahead for any advice.

Check for debris in the cooling fins of the radiator. Use air to blow out the whole radiator area. One of the most common causes for overheating is debris blocking the airflow through the radiator.

I'd ask the dealer since it has so little hours. For SxS, they overheat if they have air in the system. I'm not sure how to bleed the coolant system on a tractor, but I'd do that if you don't talk to the dealer.

Also, I'd check the hydraulic fluid level.

Otherwise, what range (l,m,h) are you in and what are you doing?

I have cleaned out the radiator screen and the fins. They were full of debris but it still is having the same issue once cleaned. I’m not doing anything extreme with the tractor, pretty much just use it for mowing. But as of now can’t even do that. I have checked all the fluid levels and everything is good.

An overheating 30 hour tractor either has a ton of chaff STILL in the radiator or
I stuck closed thermostat or a cracked head or a blown head gasket.

SO - first thing to do - pop the cold radiator cap off - fire up tractor, look inside with flashlight if necessary........ bubbles?

Does the liquid rise?

No bubbles? Get a infrared thermometer and SIMPLY measure at points.
1st = thermohousing
2nd= top neck of radiator
3rd= bottom neck of radiator.

report these numbers back

How did you clean the radiator fins?

How do you know it is really clean on the fin side?
