What RPM's do you run when moving dirt with the fel, or using a box blade. I tend to use around 2,000 RPM's, but that may be due to the PTO engine speed (I'm not using PTO). I'm just looking to see what my fellow L2501 owners do. Thanks.
I don't have a 2501 but I have a B2920, L4310, and MX4800. My B2920 has a a D1305 1.3L engine fairly similar to the one in the L2501. It has about 500 hours on it, and most of those hours are at wide-open throttle. Aside from increased noise and fuel consumption, don't worry about running at high RPM all the time.
L3901 - I pretty much always run everything at PTO speed. I have the HST transmission, and this seems to give me good speed control, etc. Also, DPF regens seem to come off without a hitch, without my having to interact at all.
Would be interesting to see a dyno chart to see where max horsepower/torque is developed. Did a quick internet search, but didn't turn up anything.
Depends on how heavy I am loading the bucket. Usually I load bucket in Low gear then depending on how heavy and how far I am going to unload I may use Medium gear or even High if load is light so my rpm's vary between 1500-2000. However, being old school I also tend to "listen" to what the engine is telling me and make adjustments.
my dealer said to run full throttle ,,,, it is better than lugging the hydo. pump ....and if you start loosing power back off the go pedal ... you will have more pulling power and will not stall out ....
