My L245 has a cartridge style oil filter. I cannot find a replacement. I have scoured the Internet, talked to dealers, emailed Kubota Corp. to no avail. All of the filter companies and Kubota themselves call for a spin-on style. Has anyone ever heard of this? The filter that came out is metal clad #5514 140F3G. There is no manufacturer name, only MADE IN USA. I have checked this number everywhere, no luck. Any info or suggestions will be appreciated.

Sounds different.
If its not original equipment and I dont think it is, then I wonder how hard would it be to return it to the spin on type.
Let us know and good luck.

Take the filter to your local auto parts store. Get with a manager, or someone that has been in the biz for quite some time. And clip the package somewhere where you won't lose it so you'll have the part number for reference the next time :D

A picture of both the filter and it's install location would be great, as an L245 came factory with nothing more than a screen filter that is installed in the transmission (better known as the rear end).
I suspect that you have an aftermarket add on.;)

And whatever dealer told you it was a spin on filter... well lets just say I wouldn't go to them for advice or service anytime!
