Hi, nice to meet y'all. I have a 1997 L2350 4x4, and loader. My pitman shaft sheared off at the arm. I'm in Western PA and use the machine for snow removal. I checked on a new replacement box best I could find was $1800. Yikes! In the mean time I ordered a manual box from Kumar and plugged my hydraulic lines. $360 new, doable. What are my options in the future? Rebuild the box? I haven't received the manual box yet, will it fit ok? It was listed for my machine, mounting the same? Any advice appreciated.
You can NOT plug the lines, loop them together, and even that might present issues as it's a priority valve feed circuit and always want priority over other hydraulic uses.
Also I think you going to be sadly mistaken about the manual box, it takes a different pitman arm and a different drag link, so it will not bolt up and work.
The Pitman arm is available, but I don't think you can get the drag link, I think they quit stocking the part, but could be wrong, both these parts are over $175 each, so $350 plus shipping and if they do have the drag link it will be expensive to ship.
You can buy the selector shaft to fix it, and one heck of a lot easier fix than trying to change it to a manual box.

If you need the WSM (aka Service manual) to repair it just ask and I'll send you a copy.
