I have removed my steering box on my L225DT and noted that there was no gasket between the gearbox and the steering box. Mine did have some failed silicon seal that just came off easily. My question is: Is there supposed to be a gasket between the steering box and the gearbox? If so, what is the part number, or the type of sealant to use, or should I use sealant, or should I make a gasket, or ????????etc. Just want to make sure I do the right thing when I reinstall the steering box. Thanks.

The prints don't show a gasket under the box.

If under the box is open air then use nothing, if it goes to the bellhousing (clutch area) or to the transmission (hydraulic area) then use some anaerobic sealer or RTV, either will do the the job.
