Greetings, I'm new to the board and a new owner of a 'Bota L2250. Machine is in good running shape, but I have some interesting things goin on with the electrical.
Previous owner must have had some issues as well, so that may complicate things (I see a few wires that have some nicks in the casing that have been covered with electrical tape).
So, the machine starts without a key. Fires right up w/ push button. (why?)
When we were transporting it home, (naively) the battery slid around and the positive cable came in touch with the frame. We have no dashboard lights/gauges. The RPM meter DOES work, although it was disconnected and I had to re-connect the wire in to the gauge board.

I have followed all wires around as best I can and looked for any damaged wiring, but I am new to this machine. Like I said above, there are a couple spots on wires that have been taped, but all looks respectable.
Where do I start to look for what may have fried? I do have a good electrical tester, tools and time , so any help would be appreciated!!

Did you find any fuses? Look around the lower left side of the dash. You should have some somewhere --- I don't own that tractor so can't help a lot. I would think you blew a fuse.

I'd add using a Test Light and start tracing what power you do have and where you don't.

Thanks guys. I'm going to have a look tomorrow at where I'm losing power...

I did of course check fuses, should have mentioned that :)
